The brief from Douwe Egberts, a Netherlands coffee brand, aimed to cover two platforms: to secure radio coverage, and to shoot and distribute a video news release to raise awareness of their ‘Be A Local Star’ competition, an initiative to help the environment by providing funds to local charities.
The news release was recorded to a high standard on location at a local charity. To present the video we secured Scrapheap Challenge regular, star of 'It’s Not Easy Being Green' and ‘Be A Local Star’ judge, Dick Strawbridge.
The credibility of the presenter, along with Digital Relations' experience of selling online content, resulted in coverage across news, lifestyle and environmental websites as well as social media. Combined monthly unique views for sites embedding the video reached nearly 1.5 million, with thousands more reached via Facebook and Twitter.
Radio coverage included distribution across the Sky News network, as well as local and national BBC and commercial radio.
