OPAL recognised that the quality of play provision in schools is often overlooked, despite its vital role in children's development. With many schools falling short in providing meaningful play opportunities, OPAL sought to spark national conversation and drive change. We helped them amplify their call for Ofsted to include play quality in school evaluations, positioning OPAL as the authority on outstanding play provision. Through targeted interviews and storytelling, we showcased the transformative benefits of effective play—from improved behaviour to stronger social and emotional skills—while encouraging schools and policymakers to rethink play as a key component of education.
