With unprecedented public generosity in response to the Ukraine crisis, the Relations Group supported the DEC in delivering a nationwide broadcast campaign to reinforce trust, transparency and understanding of how donations are making a real impact. The campaign focused on educating UK audiences about how DEC member charities—including the British Red Cross, Save the Children and Oxfam—work together with local partners to deliver coordinated, effective humanitarian aid across Ukraine and neighbouring countries. Through broadcast storytelling, we helped explain how the £300 million raised to date is being used in both immediate relief efforts—such as food, water, shelter, medical support and emergency care—and longer-term recovery programmes designed to help families rebuild their lives over the coming years. By highlighting the scale of the crisis, the structured funding approach, and the wide range of innovative on-the-ground interventions, the campaign strengthened public confidence in the DEC brand while clearly demonstrating the real-world impact of UK donations.
