'A Face For Radio' – Leading and Engaging the Conversation in the Broadcast Space

What is ‘A Face For Radio’?

For those of you who don’t know, the ‘A Face For Radio’ is our podcast that talks to presenters, producers and reporters in radio.

Essentially, we take you behind the microphone to tell you the stories you may have never heard before.

The podcast looks to speak to anyone that works within the radio realm. National presenters like Jeremy Vine, Iain Dale and Justin Webb have all appeared on the show.

Additionally, we’ve also spoken to local and regional presenters that include Louise Hulland, Ngunan Adamu and Summaya Mughal.

We’re also not afraid to talk with those outside of the news and current affairs sphere. In previous episodes, we’ve spoken to the likes of Pat Nevin, ex-footballer, and pundit for BBC Radio 5 Live and one of they key voices behind BBC Introducing, Jess Iszatt.

On top of that, other high-profile names like Martine Croxall, Rory Cellan-Jones and Matt Allwright have been interviewed.

Why do we do ‘A Face For Radio’?

It’s very simple, having these conversations allows us to understand what radio stations and other people are looking for when it comes to the stories and the guests they’re looking for.

Also, it helps build and grow our ever-expanding list of contacts to ensure that our clients can get the coverage they’re wanting to secure.

Furthermore, we want the people we’re pitching to understand what The Relations Group is all about and clearly grasp what it is we’re trying to do.

Conversation and discussion is one of the key ways that we can learn, communicate and share ideas, that is what the podcast is all about.

Here’s an example of from a conversation we had with Jeremy Vine all about the best ways PR’s can pitch to BBC Radio 2.

Striking that balance

We understand that that as much as we want to know about what presenters, producers and reporters are looking for, the discussions need variety.

This is why we decided to delve deeper and spark exciting and engaging conversations. We want to talk about just more than the stories broadcasters are looking for.

We want to lift the lid and learn more about the people behind your favourite shows.

In an episode with Iain Dale, we spoke about audiences and are they being let down?
